Ethics
So in class today we talked about ethics. The first situation Professor Wakhisi gave us was about a man who saved President Ford from being assassinated. This man happened to be gay but asked the reporter to keep his sexuality quiet. The reported went against his wishes and told the media anyway. If were the reporter I would have listened to the man and kept his secret quiet. I know that it is probably not a good journalistic approach but I would not be able to look at myself the same way if he asked me not to do something and I did it anyway. Even if I never saw him again, I value personal relationships with people too much and I just wouldn't feel right about it, even if it would help me in my career. The troubles I caused him would just haunt me and not be worth it. I just couldn't do it.

Yeah, I agree with you. I mean I don't think it is vital information to the story, so I wouldn't have published it either.
